  • Do I have to be flexible to practice yoga?
Absolutely not. There is a very common misconception that yoga is only suitable for people who are already naturally flexible, but any body can practice yoga irrespective of size, injury or ability. You will learn how to modify the poses and transitions to make them more suitable to your body and to honour any limitations you encounter. Over time your body will become more flexible and more mobile, but there are many more benefits to be found other than the physical.
  • What should I wear to a class?
Anything you can comfortably move in. Layers are always advisable as some practices will build heat while others will cool the body.
  • What equipment do I need?
The only equipment you need is a yoga mat. If you have a strap or belt, blocks (thick books are a great alternative), blankets, cushions and/or an eye pillow (they don't need to be fancy or branded), they will definitely come in handy, particularly in Mellow and Yin Yoga classes, but they aren't an absolute necessity.
  • How does a Live Stream class work?
Bookings close 15 minutes before class begins. You will receive a Zoom link via email and the Zoom meeting will open 15 minutes before the start time. This is a great time to ask any questions or let your teacher know of any injury or limitation you may need to modify around. Set yourself up in a space where you have enough room to lay out your yoga mat and remove anything you might knock over or bump into during the class. It's completely up to you whether you practice with your camera on or off, whatever you feel most comfortable with. Please note that if your camera is off your teacher won't be able to give you individual feedback or alignment cues. One of the perks of practicing yoga from home is that there is no limit to the amount of props you can use to make yourself cosy and comfortable. Any blankets, pillows, cushions, socks, jumpers, scarves, (even books can make a great substitute for blocks) you have at home can make your class experience, especially Savasana, extra special.
  • Which class is most suitable for me?
That's really for you to decide. All classes are open to all levels of ability and experience. You can read a description of our classes on our Classes page to learn more about our options or feel free to email hello@mistymoonyoga.com.au with any specific questions or concerns.
  • Do you offer private classes?
Yes! Private classes are a wonderful way to tailor your experience to suit any particular goals or limitations. They are a great option if you prefer not to practice in a group setting, or simply want more one-on-one time with their teacher for questions and feedback. Visit our Private Classes page if you'd like to learn more.
